The first day of the new school year began Monday in the northern Jordan Valley community of Khirbet Ibziq, east of Tubas, with classes held inside metal caravans positioned near the original school building, Shehab Wire reported. The temporary structures were installed as an emergency replacement after the community lost access to its primary school facility through settler-related operations in the area.
Students and educators now depend on the metal caravan classrooms to continue instruction despite the displacement. However, the makeshift setup has not shielded the school population from ongoing settler interference and harassment, according to the report. The caravans represent a precarious stopgap solution as the community attempts to maintain educational continuity under pressure from settler activity in the occupied territory.
