Israeli occupation forces demolished 20 seasonal shelters used by Palestinian farmers in the Al-Makhrouq area of Al-Jiftlik village, north of Jericho in the occupied Jordan Valley on Thursday, according to IMEMC News. Local officials reported the operation targeted structures farmers rely on during planting and harvest seasons. Firas Jahalin, head of the Al-Jiftlik local council, confirmed the demolitions.
The shelters served as temporary bases for agricultural work across the Jordan Valley region. The action marks another instance of Israeli forces removing Palestinian farming infrastructure from the territory. Demolitions of farmer structures have been a recurring occurrence in the area.
