Deir al-Balah municipality in central Gaza issued a complete swimming ban Friday, August 14, citing dangerous sea conditions and the need to protect public safety, Shehab Wire reported. The restriction applied to all swimmers and beachgoers throughout the coastal area.
The municipality issued an urgent notice the same day warning residents and visitors against entering the water. Officials cited elevated wave heights as the primary hazard prompting the precautionary measure.
