Israeli occupation forces demolished three Palestinian homes belonging to the Alqam family on Wednesday in the Al-Ashqariya neighborhood of Beit Hanina, north of occupied Jerusalem, IMEMC News reported. The operation also involved uprooting trees and destroying surrounding agricultural land in the area.
The demolitions mark the latest destruction of Palestinian residential structures in occupied East Jerusalem. Israeli authorities typically justify such actions by citing the absence of building permits. Palestinian residents contend that the permit system is deliberately designed to deny them construction authorization, effectively restricting Palestinian development in occupied territories while Israeli settlement expansion continues.
