Israeli occupation authorities have issued a new military order confiscating 37.481 dunams of Palestinian land in Beitunia, a town west of Ramallah in the central occupied West Bank, IMEMC News reported. The seized territory will be used to expand an existing military site positioned near the illegal Israeli settlement of Beit Horon, which sits on land claimed by the Palestinian municipality.
The land seizure represents another chapter in Beitunia's long history of territorial loss to Israeli military and settlement expansion. Palestinian residents have repeatedly documented confiscations of agricultural and residential property in the area, with authorities citing security and settlement development as justification for the takeovers.
