The Palestine Center for Prisoner Studies said Israeli authorities have significantly escalated arrests of Palestinian children since the war on Gaza began in October 2023, Shehab Wire reported. The center documented approximately 2,000 cases of detention among minors, including children under 10 years old.
The center characterized the spike as a dangerous intensification in the targeting of Palestinian youth for detention and mistreatment. It attributed the surge to operations carried out by Israeli forces during the conflict that has devastated the Gaza Strip over the past months.
