Rescue teams recovered 55 bodies and remains of Palestinians from the Malka family beneath the rubble of a collapsed building in Gaza City's Zeytoun neighborhood, Al Jazeera reported. All casualties belonged to one household, marking one of the largest single-family death tolls documented during the ongoing conflict in the territory.
The discovery underscores the scale of destruction in residential areas across Gaza. Zeytoun, a densely populated neighborhood in central Gaza City, has endured repeated airstrikes and intensive bombardment. Rescue operations in the area have continued as crews work through debris from damaged and destroyed buildings throughout the enclave.
