Shehab Wire reported that thirteen-year-old Saba Nayim Al-Hasash sat in a corner of a small mosque in the al-Iqleemiya area of Mawasi, Khan Younis, studying Quranic verses. She held her Quran in her small hands, concentrating on memorizing passages from the scripture while unaware of dangers lurking outside the mosque walls.
The girl was positioned within the southern Gaza enclave, where civilians have faced repeated displacement and conflict. Her presence in the mosque reflected efforts by residents to maintain daily routines and religious instruction despite the volatile conditions affecting the area. The mosque served as a refuge where children attempted to continue their education and spiritual practice.
