Political analyst Hilal Nassar told Shehab Wire that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's public statements about targeting and evacuating areas of Gaza due to incendiary kites serve a strategic purpose. According to Nassar, the rhetoric is designed to legitimize expanded military operations in the territory.
Nassar argued that the kite-focused messaging provides cover for the continuation of assassinations and targeted killings affecting civilians—youth, children, and women—in Gaza. The analyst characterized such operations as part of a broader campaign of what he called elimination and liquidation.
The framing also allows Israel to extend military operations beyond the scheduled elections, Nassar said, by establishing security justifications for ongoing warfare in the densely populated enclave.
