Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza have been repeatedly displaced by years of bombardment, forcing them to seek shelter in increasingly constrained areas, Dawn reported. Israeli control of large portions of the Strip has narrowed available space for civilians, trapping many families amid widespread destruction. As of August 2026, around 82% of structures in Gaza had sustained damage.
With winter approaching, families sheltering in damaged buildings and fragile tents face acute vulnerability. The combination of physical destruction, territorial restrictions, and limited displacement options has created a humanitarian crisis as seasonal weather threatens already precarious living conditions.
