British trade unions voted to support the boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement for the first time in the organization's history, Shehab Wire reported. The Trades Union Congress (TUC), which represents roughly 5 million workers, passed the measure at its annual conference.
The vote represents the first time the TUC has backed the Palestinian campaign, which calls for economic pressure on Israel over its occupation policies.
