Ex-Mossad chief boasts Israel toured Fordo many times before the strikes

Israel's former Mossad chief Yossi Cohen said on Tuesday that "we toured" Iran's Fordo uranium-enrichment site "many times" to understand the facility, the Israeli news site Ynet reported from the Galilee Forum in Safed.
Cohen did not say when the visits happened or who made them, and the Israeli accounts note it remains unclear whether he meant agents physically inside the mountain complex or remote penetration. Of the American bombing of the site he said it "was the fulfilment of all my dreams".
Fordo, buried under a mountain south of Tehran, was hit by US bunker-busting strikes alongside Natanz and Isfahan in the twelve-day war of June 2025.
The boast lands in a particular season. Cohen has been circling Israeli politics since leaving the Mossad, and campaign-adjacent disclosure of intelligence exploits is a pattern of the Israeli pre-election period this paper has reported before.
It also lands mid-war. The Iran file is frozen on Washington's clock until November, as Yedioth's Ron Ben-Yishai reported on Tuesday, and every Israeli signal about the reach of its intelligence inside Iran is part of the pressure argument for keeping the sanctions track over the military one.
The Times of Israel and the Jerusalem Post carried the same remarks; the Mossad itself, as ever, said nothing.
