Political analyst Misarah Bahr told Shehab Wire that Palestinian factions have agreed to a Gaza ceasefire proposal while Israeli leadership continues to reject it. Bahr attributed the stalled negotiations to American maneuvering, which he said aims to give Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu time until upcoming Israeli elections by creating an appearance of resistance to U.S. pressure.
Bahr predicted the ambiguity in talks will persist through the Israeli elections, with Washington maintaining its delaying tactics. He characterized the current phase as one in which Netanyahu is being granted breathing room while appearing to face American pressure on the ceasefire question.
