Ahmed al-Siqali returned to Gaza after nearly three years away to discover that six of his seven children had died during his absence, Middle East Eye reported. Al-Siqali had departed Gaza to build a future for his family but remained separated from them throughout the period he was gone.
His reunion with his wife came with the discovery of six death certificates documenting the losses. The family had endured significant casualties while he was away, leaving him with one surviving child from his original seven.
