Lebanon's health ministry said an Israeli drone strike wounded two civilians in the southern city of Nabatieh on Tuesday, and that a second strike minutes later hit the rescue team that came for them, damaging an ambulance of the Islamic Risala Scouts. The Israeli army denied it, telling the Times of Israel it was unaware of any attack in the area at that time.
The ministry's emergency centre described a double-tap sequence: the first strike, the wounded, the ambulance crew arriving, the second strike on the crew.
The denial is the Israeli-press layer of the story. Israeli strikes in south Lebanon have continued through the ceasefire file, and this paper reported the pattern the last time an ambulance was hit at the height of the spring escalation.
The timing is the substance. American mediators closed the seventh round of Israeli-Lebanese talks in Rome a week ago, with the sequencing argument — disarmament first or withdrawal first — unresolved, and three southern villages handed to the Lebanese army as pilot zones.
Every contested strike lands on that scale. Lebanon's account puts a rescue crew under fire inside the negotiation's test area; Israel's account says it did not happen. Neither side has published footage, and no international monitor has yet given a finding.
