Israel's Saturday papers split their front pages between the family that runs the Prime Minister's Office and the American general looking for a way out of the Iran war. Here is how each outlet plays it.
Haaretz leads its election coverage with the three television interviews Yoav Horowitz gave on Friday night, in which Netanyahu's former chief of staff said he was asked to have bureau employees sign loyalty pledges to the family. Its television critic reaches the same verdict in fewer words: the state is being run by a household in disorder. Alongside that, the paper reports Jerusalem's cool reading of the Saudi-Turkish-Pakistani defence pact.
Ynet, the country's most-read site, opens the weekend with four fronts edging toward escalation — Gaza strikes sharply slowed, Lebanon's ceasefire under strain, the army stretched thin in the occupied West Bank, and Iran between diplomacy and a renewed war. It fronts a general's warning from Washington: the US Joint Chiefs chairman, Dan Caine, has told colleagues privately that air power alone will not deliver Trump's objectives.
Maariv keeps the campaign in view, with its seat poll finding the map frozen — the coalition at 49, the Zionist opposition at 57 — and Ben Caspit reopening the closed cabinet protocol from the days before 7 October 2023.
The Jerusalem Post runs the Caine report at the top of its international file, with Yemen and the Iranian oil blockade beneath it.
