An Israeli blockade is preventing Palestinians who have lost limbs in Gaza from accessing prosthetics and rehabilitation services they need, Middle East Eye reported. Omar Halawa, a Palestinian child amputee, told the outlet that his condition has deteriorated since the war began, describing his life as "worse than before the war."
The blockade has effectively sealed off Gaza's population from external medical resources and supplies necessary to treat the thousands of civilians who have suffered amputations during the conflict.
