An Israeli settlement group claimed it established a new outpost overlooking Gaza City and called on the Israeli government to formally authorize the unauthorized site, Middle East Eye reported. The group's announcement came as part of efforts to expand Israeli presence in the territory.
The settlers used the phrase "while you slept" in their statement, suggesting the establishment occurred without prior public notice. Details about the settlement's exact location, size, and resident population were not immediately available.
