Israeli settlers have taken control of more than 4,700 of the 4,800 dunams of land in Um al-Safa, a Palestinian village west of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, according to Middle East Eye. The confiscation leaves residents with minimal territory in their own community as settlement expansion accelerates.
The seizure represents near-total settler dominance over the village's agricultural land, effectively reducing Palestinian landholdings to less than 1 percent of Um al-Safa's total area. Residents face severe restrictions on their ability to farm or access their remaining plots as Israeli outposts continue to expand across the territory. The takeover reflects a broader pattern of land confiscation affecting Palestinian communities throughout the West Bank.
