Israeli forces killed five Palestinians in Gaza on Friday, IMEMC News reported, continuing a pattern of ceasefire violations across the coastal enclave. An Israeli drone struck a tent housing displaced persons, according to Al Jazeera, in one of multiple attacks that also wounded several others throughout the besieged territory.
The strikes underscore the fragile state of the ceasefire arrangement in Gaza, where the humanitarian crisis has deepened amid ongoing displacement and conflict. The Gaza Strip has endured intensive military operations that have left much of the enclave devastated and displaced large portions of its civilian population.
