Latin American countries are shifting their diplomatic stance on Israel under new administrations that oppose the isolation measures adopted by previous governments following the war in Gaza, Al Jazeera English reported. The policy reversals reflect changing political leadership across the region and signal a move away from the solidarity positions many nations had taken with Palestinians.
The moves represent a break from a regional trend that had gained momentum after Israel's military operations in Gaza. Several Latin American governments had previously supported measures intended to pressure Israel over its conduct in the territory, but incoming leaders are now charting a different course in their foreign policy approach.
