Settlement specialist Khalil al-Tufakji told Shehab Wire that land confiscation decisions—particularly those underway in Jabal al-Tawil and Psagot settlement—aim to establish security cordons around settlements and expand their control. He characterized the measures as part of a broader effort to reshape West Bank geography through systematic territorial acquisition.
The confiscations target vulnerable Palestinian territories adjacent to major settlements, according to al-Tufakji's assessment.
