Dr. Mohammad Abu Salmiya, director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza, warned of an unprecedented deterioration across the territory's health and environmental systems, Shehab Wire reported. He stressed that the collapse is occurring under conditions of a strict, continuous blockade that has lasted for years, leaving the sector's infrastructure severely strained.
Abu Salmiya characterized the situation as a humanitarian disaster unfolding within Gaza's confined space. The medical system and environmental conditions have both reached critical levels, he said, as the enclave struggles under sustained restrictions on resources, movement, and access to essential services needed to maintain basic public health infrastructure and environmental standards.
