The general secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation issued a warning Friday against what it described as dangerous Israeli moves to implement unlawful procedures and grant unauthorized powers aimed at enforcing annexation of occupied Palestinian territory, Shehab Wire reported.
The organization said Israeli occupation authorities had announced plans to take such steps as part of implementing what it called illegitimate schemes to impose Israeli sovereignty over the Palestinian lands under occupation.
The statement reflected mounting concern among Islamic-majority nations over territorial expansion policies affecting Palestinians. The organization characterized the announced Israeli procedures as violations of international law and described the sovereignty claims as unfounded.
