The Israeli military expelled thousands of Palestinians from Hebron, according to Al Jazeera English. The displacement occurred in the city, which has experienced decades of tensions between Israeli settlers and the Palestinian population.
Hebron, located in the occupied West Bank, is home to one of Judaism's holiest sites and has remained a flashpoint for Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The city is divided into zones under varying degrees of Israeli military and Palestinian Authority control.
