Israeli forces killed former prisoner Farah Ahmad Hamed on Wednesday in an airstrike in Gaza City, Shehab Wire reported. Hamed, a Qassam member from Silwad northeast of Ramallah, had been detained by Israel and subsequently deported to the Gaza Strip. He was struck while in the Al-Rashid Street area of the Sheikh Ajlin district in southwestern Gaza City and died from his injuries.
Hamed's killing marks another casualty among Palestinians with prior Israeli detention records now in Gaza. The circumstances of the targeting remain unclear. His death adds to the toll of former detainees killed since the escalation of conflict in the territory.
