Israeli occupation forces closed the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron and expelled its employees and custodians, the Ma'an news agency reported. The closure follows a pattern of restrictions on Palestinian access to the holy site, one of Islam's most sacred locations and a flashpoint for Israeli-Palestinian tensions.
The mosque, located in the heart of Hebron's Old City, houses the Cave of the Patriarchs, venerated by Muslims, Jews, and Christians. The expulsion of staff means the site cannot function for prayers or maintenance during the closure.
