Israeli occupation authorities face mounting obstacles to a planned cable car system in occupied Jerusalem after an Italian engineering company refused to participate, Shehab Wire reported. The withdrawal marks the fifth foreign company to pull out of the project, which Israeli authorities have promoted as a tourism initiative.
The cable car scheme has drawn international opposition amid Palestinian assertions that it serves as cover for land seizure and the Judaization of the city. Successive rejections by international firms have stalled implementation of the contested infrastructure project.
