Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu entered the Western Wall plaza in occupied East Jerusalem with thousands of Israelis, including government officials and ministers, Middle East Eye reported. The visit saw a large contingent of Israeli officials access the religiously significant site in the Palestinian territories.
The Western Wall, located in the Old City of East Jerusalem, is one of the most sacred sites in Judaism and remains a flashpoint for Israeli-Palestinian tensions over control and access to holy sites in the occupied city.
