Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed the country's spy agency and armed forces to pursue the overthrow of Iran's government, the Ma'an news agency reported. He provided no timeline or operational specifics for the order.
The directive represents an unusually direct statement of Israeli intent regarding Tehran's political system, though Israel has long carried out covert operations against Iranian targets and nuclear installations.
