Palestinian activist Dr. Khalil Assi, based in Sweden and active across Europe, rejected any measures that would substitute direct popular elections for indirect selection methods, Shehab Wire reported. Assi emphasized that the Palestinian people remain the source of legitimacy and retain the inherent right to choose their representatives.
The activist stressed firm opposition to procedures aimed at circumventing free and direct elections, asserting that Palestinians will not permit their voice to be stripped from the political process.
