Dr. Alaa al-Din al-Aklook, head of the National Assembly of Palestinian Tribes, Clans and Families, declared elections a long-awaited national obligation, according to Shehab Wire. He characterized the vote as a necessary station for rebuilding the Palestinian political system and reorganizing domestic affairs.
Al-Aklook warned against using practical obstacles as justification to postpone or cancel the electoral process. He stressed that holding elections represents an essential measure for restoring institutional credibility and resolving the dysfunction that has plagued Palestinian governance. The tribal leader's remarks came amid ongoing political divisions that have prevented Palestinian elections for nearly two decades.
