Palestinians in the occupied West Bank have begun organizing night watches to defend their homes and communities from settler violence, according to Al Jazeera English. The patrols represent a grassroots security response to what residents describe as escalating attacks on Palestinian property and residents by Israeli settlers.
The initiative reflects growing concerns among Palestinians about their safety in areas where Israeli settlements are located, as residents take responsibility for their own protection during nighttime hours when attacks have reportedly occurred with frequency.
