President Donald Trump said he will "look at" helping Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu form a unity government following Israel's recent vote, according to Al-Monitor. Trump took the unusual step of endorsing the sitting Israeli leader during the electoral campaign, marking a direct intervention in another nation's domestic politics.
The statement suggests potential U.S. involvement in sensitive negotiations over Israel's next government coalition. Details on what form such assistance might take remain unclear.
