Ultra-Orthodox Jewish protesters stormed an Israeli army base, according to Al Jazeera English. The incident marks an escalation in tensions between the ultra-Orthodox community and the military over conscription policies. Details on the number of protesters, specific base location, and any resulting confrontations remain unclear from available reports.
The storming reflects broader disputes over military service exemptions historically granted to ultra-Orthodox men studying in religious seminaries. Recent legislative attempts to end or modify these exemptions have intensified friction between the community and Israeli authorities.
