Al-Aqsa Mosque confronts one of the most perilous phases in its history as the 57th anniversary of the 1969 arson attack approaches, the head of the International Jerusalem Center said, Shehab Wire reported. Hassan Khater characterized the burning not as a historical event that concluded decades ago but as an ongoing crisis whose destructive effects continue to shape the mosque's present circumstances.
The anniversary comes amid escalating threats to the sanctuary's identity and territorial integrity, Khater warned.
