Almost all of Gaza's population needs tents or emergency shelter assistance before winter arrives, according to a UN agency, as the El Niño weather phenomenon is expected to bring heavier rainfall to the region. Israeli restrictions have left shelter supplies critically scarce, compounding the humanitarian crisis as residents face both displacement and deteriorating weather conditions.
Winter rains pose an acute threat to those living in makeshift accommodations or open areas across the territory. Nearly the entire population requires shelter support ahead of the rainy season.
