Israeli election security experts have warned that the country faces significant vulnerability to foreign interference, Al-Monitor reported. The concern emerged after a post circulating on X depicted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara surrounded by menacing soldiers, with a caption comparing their fate to that of Romania's executed dictators Nicolae and Elena Ceausescu and stating "It's them or us."
Israel lacks adequate preparedness to counter foreign manipulation of its political discourse during campaign periods, according to analysts. Security officials have not detailed which foreign actors may be responsible for such content or what measures are currently in place to detect and counter similar interference operations.
