Israel has prevented two Australian charities from delivering wheelchairs to Gaza, complicating survival for thousands of amputees navigating the war-devastated territory, according to Dawn. Displaced Palestinians requiring mobility assistance face near-impassable terrain of broken roads and rubble while attempting to reach hospitals, water sources and sanitation facilities—journeys that often demand help from family members already stretched by the humanitarian crisis.
The wheelchair blockade adds to the multiple barriers confronting amputees in Gaza, where medical resources remain severely constrained and basic infrastructure has been extensively damaged by conflict.
