Israeli occupation forces carried out multiple incursions into areas of Quneitra countryside in southern Syria today, Shehab Wire reported. The military operations included raids and the establishment of checkpoints across several locations in the region south of Damascus.
The incursions coincided with movement of Israeli tanks and armored vehicles operating in proximity to positions held by United Nations peacekeeping forces. The deployment marked another instance of Israeli military activity in the demilitarized zone that separates Syrian and Israeli-controlled territory in the Golan Heights region, where UN observers have maintained a buffer presence since 1974.
