The Palestine Center for Prisoner Studies said the Israeli government is urgently accelerating efforts to implement a law permitting capital punishment for prisoners, which the Knesset approved in March, Shehab Wire reported. The center characterized the push as frantic and accelerating, designed to normalize executions as established practice.
The law would allow Israeli authorities to carry out death sentences against Palestinian prisoners held in occupation custody.
