The Norwegian Nobel Committee has awarded the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize to South African judge Navi Pillay, former chair of the United Nations independent international commission of inquiry into the occupied Palestinian territory, Shehab Wire reported.
Pillay led the UN fact-finding mission that investigated alleged violations in the Palestinian territories. The Nobel committee recognized her work on human rights and accountability mechanisms.
