Palestine's Grand Mufti Muhammad Ahmad Hussein, head of the Supreme Islamic Council, issued a religious ruling prohibiting the purchase of olive oil sold by Israeli settlers, Shehab Wire reported. The fatwa also bars buying olives stolen from Palestinian trees by settlers.
The ruling addresses what Palestinian authorities describe as systematic theft of agricultural products during the olive harvest season, a time of economic significance for Palestinian farmers.
