Over 100 demonstrators were arrested near the United Nations in New York on Thursday ahead of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address to the General Assembly, Democracy Now! reported. The protesters, affiliated with Jewish Voice for Peace, staged a sit-in demanding an end to U.S. military aid to Israel.
The arrests took place as Netanyahu prepared to deliver his speech to the UN body. Jewish Voice for Peace has previously organized demonstrations against U.S. support for Israel's military operations.
