Rodents and insects have become a constant threat in Gaza's overcrowded displacement camps, where deteriorating sanitation has created conditions that harbor pests throughout shelter tents, Dawn reported. Shereen Abed, a 26-year-old displaced mother, said she listens nightly for rats moving through food bags, clothing and plastic containers inside her family's tent. The infestation has become a regular part of life for many families sheltering in the camps.
The spread of rodents and insects through crowded shelters has added another layer of hardship to conditions already strained by displacement, compounding health risks and living difficulties for vulnerable families in Gaza.
