Turkey's Defense Ministry said Israel violated the 1974 disengagement agreement by resuming work on what it called the "Sufa Line 53 project" in southern Syria, according to Shehab Wire. The ministry characterized the move as evidence of continued Israeli expansionist and aggressive policies.
The 1974 accord established a buffer zone between Israeli and Syrian forces on the Golan Heights following the October War.
