Zeteo reported that award-winning Irish author Sally Rooney faces possible arrest if she enters the United Kingdom, according to columnist Fatima Bhutto. The threat stems from Rooney's public support for Palestinian causes, Bhutto wrote.
Bhutto contrasted the UK's approach to Rooney with its treatment of other figures, noting that Britain has granted asylum or safe passage to individuals with militant backgrounds, including a former commander of Syria's al-Qaeda offshoot. She characterized the disparity as "Orwellian" suppression of political speech.
