U.S. officials and representatives from the "Peace Council" are preparing to conduct a field survey and mapping operation in Gaza to identify potential locations for Hamas weapons handover, according to Shehab Wire. The effort forms part of a plan by President Donald Trump, though no guarantees have been secured regarding Israeli withdrawal from the territory or Palestinian reconstruction.
The initiative places the weapons file at the center of broader ceasefire negotiations, raising questions about disarmament sequencing and enforcement mechanisms amid ongoing uncertainty over the terms of any Israeli military exit.
