Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas told the UN General Assembly on Thursday that Palestinians face the prospect of another Nakba—the Arabic term for the 1948 displacement of Palestinians—if the international community fails to intervene, Middle East Eye reported. Abbas's warning centered on the threat of further displacement and dispossession facing Palestinians.
The PA president's remarks came as the UN body convened for its 2026 session. Abbas called for international action to prevent what he described as a recurrence of the mass displacement that occurred in 1948.
