Fifteen of Gaza's 45 junior surf lifesavers have returned to the water following the resumption of their program, The Guardian reported. The group, known as Nippers, had been unable to train during the three-year conflict that disrupted coastal activities across the territory.
The recovery of the program marks a rare return to normalcy in Gaza's recreational life. Organizers are working to locate the remaining 30 members of the junior lifeguard initiative as conditions permit resumed beach operations.
